Corriechoille
Lodge Guest House / B&B has a quiet and secluded location near
the village of Spean Bridge in the West Highlands of Scotland. The
Lochaber Area is well know for its spectacular mountain scenery and,
together with Fort William, has been designated the official "outdoor capital of
the UK". The area is popular with hill walkers looking to climb many
of the "Munroes"
(mountains over 3000ft) in the area) as well as Ben Nevis, Brittain's highest
peak. Corriechoille is on the Lairig Leacach, and old Drove Route that is now
a poplular route with walkers heading for the Grey Corries. Other popular activities
include fishing, riding, mountain biking (recently the world cup events are
regularly held in the area) canoeing, wildlife safaris, whale watching and
skiing (at the Aonach Mor Nevis Range). Wildlife
abounds, with golden eagles, pine martens, otters and red deer being amongst
some of the animals you may see. Places easily reached for a day trip include:
The Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, Isle of Mull, Iona, Ben Nevis, Fort William, Spean
Bridge, Inverness, Oban, Eilean Donan Castle, Urquhart Castle, Castle Stalker,
Glen Coe, Great Glen Way, Caledonian Canal, Small Isles, West Highland Railway,
Road to the Isles, Jacobite steam train. The accommodation provided at the Guesthouse
/ bed and breakfast is all en-suite. As an old Lodge, the rooms are well suited
to guest accommodation, and are all of a good size. All of the double beds
are king sized (5 foot) and have new, firm mattresses. For Breakfast you can
choose from a full cooked breakfast, which includes eggs from our own hens
and home smoked salmon or a "continental" breakfast, including home
made rolls and freshly prepared fruit salad. Porridge (oatmeal) is always on
the menu. For dinner we serve a set 3 course menu which is always freshly prepared
and uses home grown fruit and vegetables when in season. We also try and source
our meat and fish as locally as possible. Please note that we need to know
in advance (by the day before at the latest) if you would like to have dinner.
Corriechoille Cabins are 2 turf roofed log cabins that we let as self catering
accommodation. They enjoy a fantastic location in our grounds with completely
uninterrupted views towards the mountain range known as the Grey Corries. The
cabins were built in 2002, so comply with modern building regulations and are
very warm and well insulated. They both have a fully equipped kitchen, log burning
stove and double bedroom with en-suite bathroom
