However you choose to
travel to the Highlands, our location and the public transport
situation here mean that the last part of your journey is best
completed by car.
Directions from Spean Bridge:
From the A82 - Coming from the Inverness
direction turn left just past the Spean Bridge Hotel or right before
the Hotel if coming from Fort William. This is a small unclassified
road and is sign posted to Corriechoille. IT IS NOT THE A86. Now
proceed down the single track road for 2½ miles. Keep left
where the road forks at the 10 mph sign. When you reach the end
of the tarmac road turn right up the hill (sign on tree), then carry
on round to the left and into the courtyard. The earliest
check-in time is 3:30pm. Please don't arrive before then as we may
not have everything ready for you, or we may be out.

DO YOU GET LOST OFTEN? If so, please print off
these detailed instructions to avoid a confrontation with your traveling
companion/s.....
- When you turn off the A82 to our (unclassified) road, reset
you odometer and follow what's below:
- 0. 4 miles - cross a hump backed railway bridge.
- 1. 2 miles - the road forks. Signposted right
to Killichonate and left to Corriechoille KEEP LEFT.
- 1. 5 miles - pass a dirt track on the right
with a "private road" sign DO NOT TURN UP HERE.
- 1. 9 miles - cross a metal bridge over a burn
(small river).
- 2. 3 miles - reach the end of the tarmac road.
There is a high up sign on the tree here to Corriechoille, as
well as several other signs. TURN RIGHT HERE. Follow
the dirt track up the hill, around to the left and into our courtyard
(2. 6 miles). Please park in one of the marked
bays and go through the tall arched wooden gate at the corner
of the courtyard to get to our front door.
By Air:
As well as domestic flights (all year),
there are summertime flights from various continental locations
to Inverness. Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports also receive flights
from transatlantic locations. Inverness airport is more relaxing
to travel to and closer, but flights are less frequent and may be
more expensive than those to Edinburgh or Glasgow airports
By Rail:
There is a sleeper train - the "Deerstalker
Express" - that runs directly between London Euston and Spean
Bridge every evening of the week except Saturday. The train journey
a very beautiful one, but you should be aware that our location
is fairly remote and there is very little in the way of public transport
in the Highlands, with no services between us and the train station
(over 2 miles away). We strongly recommend hiring a car once you
get here if you want to get out and see the area. If traveling on
the sleeper, this will mean taking the train one stop beyond us
to Fort William.
- Railtrack - comprehensive U.K. train information - timetables,
fares, routes etc.
- West Highland Line - useful information and guide to our
scenic local railways.
- National Rail Enquiries: 0845 - 484950
By Road
Please see above for directions. All of
the major car hire companies operate from Edinburgh and Glasgow
airports.
